Team Impact Award

Daily Herald: Sunday, April 18, 2010 - Impact Awards

The LeasePlan Cares committee, a group founded by philanthropic-minded employees at LeasePlan USA in Rolling Meadows, has made a significant impact on Shelter, Inc., a non-profit child welfare agency based in Arlington Heights.

Each participating employee at LeasePlan uses their talents for organizing and soliciting support to insure the success of Shelter, Inc.'s fundraising efforts. Pat Betz, the LeasePlan Cares committee chair said, "I am extremely proud to be a part of this team. They generously give of their time and abilities time and time again. This dedication, along with the rest of the company's support, is what has made us thrive in our community outreach endeavors."

LeasePlan has participated in everything from volunteering and running in Shelter, Inc.'s 5K Walk/Run to collecting donations for the Foster Care/Healthy Families Holiday Party.  The $5,000 raised by LeasePlan last year was used to purchase books and gifts for the Holiday Gift Giving Event.

"We are thrilled to partner with Shelter, Inc. to provide much needed assistance to the children they serve every day.  The commitment that our employees have shown to this organization; and the difference they've made in such a short amount of time is wonderful," said Mary Christy, senior vice president, human resources.

Erin Tamms, volunteer coordinator for Shelter, Inc. sums it up by saying, "LeasePlan is truly an inspiration for other companies to follow.  They have proven and continue to show what possiblities there are for a company's ceaseless involvement with an organization."
