Recently a group from the Southminster Presbyterian & 1st Presbyterian churches donated their time and energy to a Spring cleaning of the yard at the Boy’s Group Home in Palatine. The group raked leaves, cleaned gutters, and spread mulch on the 5-acre property. Another group worked at our Transitional Living Home where they created a quiet space in the backyard and a huge vegetable garden for the older boys to tend. Their ongoing “faith in action” commitment to helping Shelter is greatly appreciated!

We also appreciate the hard work of a group from Levi Strauss that came out the previous day to help at our Jennings Home for Girls in Schaumburg. Not only did they paint and plant flowers on the outside, but they painted two rooms and put up blinds inside!

We work hard to keep the group homes a warm and inviting place for our children and adolescents. If you would like to donate or contribute to our group homes, please contact our Development department at 847-590-6188. Every little bit helps!
