We’re excited to have Maria Zeller Brauer join our team in the new position of Senior Director of Development. Maria graduated for the University of Illinois, Champagne-Urbana with a Bachelor of Arts, and received her Master of Arts from Indiana University. Prior to joining Shelter, Inc., she served as the Director of Development at Les Turner AKS Foundation, Director of Children’s Memorial Foundation (Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Illinois Action for Children. Maria brings both experience and a proven track record of success in the areas of development and fundraising.
Since day one at Shelter, Maria hit the ground running working with our team on “Cooking with Class” to be held March 18th, the 5K Run/Walk 4 Kidz April 27th, and of course Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Watch this space for more details!
Maria is a local resident of the northwet suburbs and has lived in Arlington Heights for the past five years. She enjoys time with her husband Todd and four year-old daughter Alese. She feels passionate about being a part of Shelter and impacting the most vulnerable in our community.
