Diana Morris has served as Shelter’s Human Resource Specialist for seven years. In her human resource role, she has contributed many ways to make Shelter a safe, inclusive, and exceptional workplace. She has also helped accumulate the dedicated and talented individuals who make such a positive impact on our young people every day.

Diana is now returning to her role as the Group Home Coordinator and looking forward to working once again directly with youths. While she says she will miss HR, she is excited to be working with the teams at the Jennings and Buckholz emergency homes.

Asked what is different since she previously served at the homes, Diana said, “Kids are now staying longer, and they’re experiencing more trauma, especially with more DCFS youths being placed in the homes. We’ll be adding more programming and teaching them more life skills to help them heal and succeed. As always, we’ll provide the best quality services available to all youths.”

Originally from Muskogee, Oklahoma, Diana now lives in Chicago but says she appreciates the commute from the city to the suburbs. And we appreciate Diana for all she contributes to Shelter and our community. Executive Director Carina Santa Maria said it best: “Diana exudes Shelter’s values and vision and exemplifies all our staff hopes to achieve.”
