It is with immense sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our esteemed colleagues, Pat Cinquini. Pat was not only an invaluable member of our team but also a dear friend and a source of inspiration to so many of us. Her dedication, passion and commitment to excellence were truly remarkable.

Over the last six years as our Grants and Communications Manager, Pat contributed significantly to Shelter’s growth and success, including writing and securing funding for Shelter’s Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program and most recently, earning a major grant from Cook County’s Behavioral Health Initiative. She worked tirelessly to pursue both private and government grants. As a writer, Pat had a gift with words. If you have read Shelter’s Blog or Connections Newsletter, you have had the pleasure of reading her work. She was a published author who wrote mysteries under a pseudonym.

Prior to her work in Grants and Communications, Pat worked as a manager of Shelter’s thrift shop. There, she touched the lives of countless individuals, fostered a positive work environment and forged strong relationships.

Her warm smile and infectious enthusiasm will forever remain in our hearts and memories.

Pat was committed to raising money each year for Shelter’s Youth Activity Fund which provides dollars for outings, activities and experiences for children in our emergency group homes. If you would like to honor Pat’s memory and her dedication to helping the most vulnerable kids, please consider a contribution to this fund.
