Shelter Youth & Family Services is proud to announce the relocation of its office to 3227 N. Wilke Road in Arlington Heights, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization’s 50-year history of serving children, youth, and families across Illinois.
The move reflects Shelter’s continued growth and evolution. Over the past five years, the organization’s staff has increased 50%, with additional growth anticipated as Shelter continues to broaden its programs and services.
The new space is designed as a collaborative workspace, fostering connection, innovation, and teamwork among staff who share a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable youth and families
“Shelter’s new office will help us continue to meet the increasing demand for our services,” said Patrice Brazil, Shelter’s Director of Human Resources. “Our new headquarters provides the space and environment necessary to support our dedicated staff and continue our mission with even greater impact.”
Remaining in Arlington Heights was an intentional choice for the organization, which was founded there in 1975. “Arlington Heights is part of Shelter’s identity,” says CEO, Carina H. Santa Maria. “This community has supported us from the beginning, and it’s important that we remain rooted where our mission started.”
The move also coincides with Shelter’s 50th anniversary, a milestone that underscores the organization’s impact and ongoing commitment to growth and innovation. In addition to the new headquarters, Shelter will soon open Illinois’ first DCFS-licensed home for youth survivors of human trafficking, expanding critical services for some of the state’s most vulnerable young women.
Since the 1970s, Shelter’s offices have been located in the Wheeling Township building at 1616 N. Arlington Heights Rd. in Arlington Heights.
“We’re celebrating our history while building for the future,” said Board President, Lindsay Tintera. “This move allows us to better support our staff and expand our reach so that every child and family we serve has the opportunity to thrive.”
